Fifth Season pioneered the most cost-effective and scalable solution in vertical farming, leveraging off-the-shelf robotics and AI to drive efficiency and revolutionize indoor agriculture. Through my investment and board role, I led the company’s shift into a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) model at the onset of COVID, when enterprise partnerships became increasingly difficult to secure and expand. As part of this pivot, I helped build strategic partnerships with major brands like Sabra and Giant Eagle while also expanding existing accounts. Despite an exhausting run, the broader impacts of COVID—particularly on high-capital startups like Fifth Season—proved significant. While its initial chapter came to a close, I firmly believe we’ll see another venture like Fifth Season rise again. The company raised $109M, and I am proud of the role I played in securing capital for such a groundbreaking venture.
